FAQ About Counseling

Below are frequently asked questions about what to expect in our sessions and the costs of counseling. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions so you can make the best decision for you and your family. Contact me here to schedule a consult.

I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. What ways do you make it easier for me to feel comfortable coming to counseling?

First let me say, everyone needs help now and then. You already have strengths that you’ve used before, that for whatever reason aren’t working right now. I’ll help you identify those strengths and how to implement them again. The first step is to contact me for a 15-minute consultation over the phone. This is a chance for us to connect with each other and ensure that I am a good fit for your needs.

Then in the comfort of your home, you will complete the customary new client forms (I realize some of the information may seem unnecessary. However, these forms provide very useful information for the counseling process without taking up time during our sessions together. I’ve done my best to keep them as brief as possible.)

How long do you think counseling will take?

Length of time in counseling varies, based on the need of the client. We discuss this during our collaboration on a customized plan to meet your goals and needs. The amount of time that you are committed to investing in your therapy is a very important factor in the planning phase.

How do I get in touch with you?

I answer all of my calls and emails. It is my goal to return your call, text, or email within a few short hours on business days. If you are a current client and text me over the weekend, I will text you back with an estimated call time.
